The Wardrobe Shrink April Newsletter April 18, 2005 |
|||
Hello and welcome to the April issue of The Wardrobe Shrink Newsletter. ![]() What's NewLondon - I will be back on May 10th and available for bookings for that week and some of the following week. Amsterdam - I will be there May 17th and around that time for bookings. Please get in touch as soon as possible if you would like to reserve my time and have a consultation. The Wardrobe Shrink Workshops will be launching shortly, and in San Francisco I have teamed up with Stephanie and her team at Stylemaven to launch these. Note - I am featured on their site as an expert, also under 'Ask Sarah'. I am really excited about the workshops as for the first time I will be able to offer my information on self-image and how we are our own 'brand', and combine that with analysing your blueprint using colour, body shape and a new system the 'style tree' - for integrating your personality. In a group this will make for an informative, fun time and hopefully will help transform many peoples' personal image. I will be updating the website soon to provide information on that and in the coming months we will be able to extend the workshops to Amsterdam, London and then other cities in the US and the UK. The E-Book will be a good support program for the workshop too. Speaking of the E-Book, I am going to lock myself in a room and finish it! It is turning into an extremely informative and interactive manual. New in the next few weeks will be the Shop and Product blogs, detailing my favourite products, stores and recommended websites. This is through recommendation only - so tried and tested - and not sponsored links or advertising. So check back in a few weeks time and the pages will be available to view in the Wardrobe Shrink Forum, which is currently having its own makeover. This issue is about Weddings. For the first time, we also have an article from a guest writer - Jenny Mathers. I will be starting to use guest writers when the monthly topic benefits some extra advice from another expert. This is not through advertising but through recommendation or personal experience. Also, look out for the promised picture of me in my Wedding Dress at the end of the wedding article. Thanks for being a subscriber to the newsletter and please forward the invite and opportunity to your friends at the link above. ![]()
Wedding Bliss - image advice for the Bride and GroomYour wedding day is one of the best days of your life. Not only is it a moment of communion between you and the one you love, but you get to be the starlet for the day. You wear a dress that makes you feel wonderful, and you get to hold center stage. How do you make the style of your wedding dress last a lifetime? Too many people look back, albeit with fond memories, and think 'what the heck was I wearing?' Or even worse, on the very day they look in the mirror and think that same thing, feeling like they have gone for a safe option or a 'typical' dress for the day. How do you get the dress to reflect you and accentuate your best assets?Planning Before you can even think about a dress, consider the overall style that you want the day to have. Consider:

Best BuysCeramic Ionic Hair Dryers - when a friend mentioned this new technology to me I wandered what the fuss was about. Then I bought one and used it, and the results were instant - much softer hair, no drying of the hair and just healthy hair in general. Using infrared heat to ionicly charge hair with negative ions, the new technology seems to really work and leave you with an almost 'salon' finish. The best dryer voted by The Wall Street Journal voted CHI Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer (est. $170) winner Best Overall, and the BaByliss Pro Carrera Dryer (est. $70) winner Best Value. There are many brands on the market, I would also pop down to your local store and see what they have. The healthy pre-wedding diet...without going into a fad!By Jenny Mathers - Savvy Fat Burning FoodWe all want to look our best, and this is where pre-wedding diet dramas sometimes appear. For many women and men too, body image and weight gain is becoming increasingly more of a concern during their adult lives and directly before a wedding is a common point at which this concern can become particularly strong. 87% of women and 59% men surveyed in the UK within two general practices in 2002, reported that they had at some point tried to lose weight. Of these respondents, 58% of the women and 47% of the men said that they were successful in losing weight, many times reporting pre wedding diets with the motivation of an upcoming wedding or special event.(1) So, if your wedding is getting closer and closer and you are dieting or are thinking of a pre wedding diet, you're not alone. A pre-wedding diet can be a good thing, in that the wedding can give you the motivation to put in the effort required to maintain healthy eating and exercise habits. However, after the wedding is when these good habits often go astray. So the tips I'm offering below are not just for before the wedding (after-all the wedding is one day, you've got the rest of your life to spend with your loved one), they are habits that need to be integrated into your everyday lifestyle. Pre Wedding Diet Tip No. 1: Eat meals regularly for an optimum pre wedding diet: studies have shown that when healthy lean women ate irregularly, their bodies burnt less calories which in some circumstances could lead to weight gain in the long term.
