The Wardrobe Shrink December Newsletter
December 22, 2005

Hello and welcome to latest issue of The Wardrobe Shrink Newsletter.

Sarah Whittaker

What's New

I just got back from my trip to London and I am excited by some new changes and offerings that I am launching. I am now offering a 'Distance' Image Profiling Consultation. This means that I can profile a client remotely using the remote questionnaire and the telephone consultation. Yes it is possible - and accessible to anyone, anywhere and without having to leave the comfort of their home or wardrobe. We are now taking credit card payments and bank transfers through PayPal. Book a Distance Consultation for a friend, husband or colleague for Christmas.

The second new service is Personal Shopping services available locally in London. Alexander is helping me out in London. He has been working in Personal Shopping in Selfridges for the last few years, and is now freelance and will be working with me to fulfill your wardrobe needs. I provide him with a full shopping brief on you and your requirements, giving him indicators of designers and styles too, then he can pull them up from the shop floor and select a wardrobe that meets with your Image Type. Book a shopping consultation with Alex or learn more about Personal Shopping.

On another note, I often get asked my opinion or to comment on a public figure and their image. There was a high profile incident recently that was rather baffling. The Pope wore a pair of bright red Prada shoes!? I watched an American style expert comment about it on one of the morning shows here. Her conclusion was that he probably didn't know what Prada even was. But that is like saying an American doesn't know McDonalds! Prada is an Italian brand and an extremely visible one. So, I wonder why he was wearing a pair, and what statement he was trying to make? Pope Benedict also uses his own tailor, causing controversy in Rome as he snubs the traditional tailor for the Pope that has been used for many decades. So, is the new Pope a fashionisto? This whole episode has been a bit ironic and intriguing for me, as after all what sort of male do you think is most likely going to own a pair of bright red Prada's? Maybe Elton John would wear a pair to his wedding? Prada has a huge gay following around the world, as well as in Italy. This all seems ironic as in the last month the Pope has banned gay priests from the Church. I wonder how his fellow shoe wearers responded to that; maybe they all will burn their red Prada shoes. This comes as yesterday the new gay marriage laws came into force in the U.K.. To add to the controversy, it is a very unfortunate thing that the bestselling book 'The Devil wears Prada' sits on many a bookshelf. I still cannot figure out his intentions, but I guess this could go down as being one of the biggest fashion gaffs of the year. And hopefully some bright Gay Catholic spark may print a t-shirt saying 'But the Pope wears Prada?' or 'This doesn't look like Kansas?' in support of the gay community being accepted by the Catholic Church.

Enough of the sensationalism. I wish you all a very magical Christmas and Holiday and wishing you the happiest 2006!

Sarah.

Pregnancy is a time of great change for your body, and the realisation that your breasts are going to double in size and that your jeans won't fit much longer can be daunting. Maybe even terrifying. Looking good can make you feel a lot better as well as maintain your self-confidence as your body goes through one of the greatest natural changes. But there are many questions that you may have. How much do I buy when I am pregnant? How long can I wear my current wardrobe without ruining it? How do I incorporate my personal style with my pregnancy clothes? Or even where do I buy stylish pregnancy clothing? Not knowing whether it will of use to you again or not having sported a bump before can make it different to your usual shopping experience. Here are a few tips, what's in/must haves and recommendations of stores and resources to get you started.

Staying sane.

Show it off -
This may seem hard when your body seems to be taking off on its own and you feel so sick in the first trimester. The last thing on your mind may be thinking about what to wear. But as your pregnancy takes its course and the morning sickness wears off, remember this is one of the most sacred times for you as a woman and therefore make the most of it. Rather than cover up or try to hide away, choose clothing that still fits the lines of your body and flatters your basic body shape...

Best Buys

C & C tops are simply the best for under a knit or tee and ensure a smoother finished look, especially with a slightly see-thru top or a thinner fabric. I wear them often and the colour options cross different colour palettes and include several brights. Also, this website offers free international shipping for orders over $100. They sell some great jeans including the Hudsons that are getting a lot of interest at the moment.
