Dress Your Hair
Hair-wear has been a feature of this season. The latest trend to make a comeback is the wide black headband as seen on Micha Barton and Nicole Richie to name a few. Bridget Bardot famously sported the style in the 60's, and of Natalie Wood, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren all sported head scarves during that era. Hair accessories are a woman's saviour for a bad-hair-day! If your hair is just starting to loose its finished look – time for another cut or colour, a headband is great to take away the attention from the distressed tresses and give you a whole new look. The elastic black headband is the most flexible and quick to use, and I recommend L.Erickson French Wide Bandeau also available in other great colours at www.hairboutique.com . Topshop, in the UK, have the wide black headband available on-line in accessories (hats & scarves) for £4. But there are other treats to choose from to dress up your tresses and your personality:
Bling-Bling If you are taken with Madonna's new Disco style, rather than feeling you have to buy the leotard to make it work, you can simply add some bling-bling to your hair. This is my favourite choice; if you have bright eyes or a youthful face, it can light you up and won't look too overstated on you either. Try Claire's Silver Sequin Headband at www.claires.com . Or if you prefer a more fancy-free look, then try Target's Beaded Crochet Headscarf.
Classic Sports If you like the classic sports – golfing, boating – then Seabands, hair accessory designs by Trish Hart, have a wide variety of fabrics and textures just for you. Trish started www.seabands.net from her own desire to keep her hair off her face while boating. Bands are available for sale on-line and at stores through the East Coast.
Natural You want to use hair accessories but want them to blend with your look rather than become another accessory? If you are fed up of hunting around for hair clips that match your hair colour, look no further! Goody has launched a new line 'Colour Collection' to match with all tones of hair colour. Whether you are wearing your hair up or tying it away from the face, the clips, elastics and barrettes will harmonise with your own colouring and not take the attention away from your outfit. They are available in Target, Wal-mart, Claires and many other locations across the US.
